Over the last ten years the City of Cohoes has been a great place to invest. Investments have been made in residential homes, apartment buildings, and commercial real estate. Cohoes has had a 102 percent increase in residential sale prices since 2000 and more than 85 new housing units were purchased in that time period.

More than 100 million dollars was invested in major housing projects since 2000 including the cutting edge Eddy Village Green nursing home facility; to the award winning Harmony Mills restoration. People have chosen to invest in Cohoes. This growth will continue as 600 additional housing units have been approved and are in the development process or are in the planning process for development.

In the downtown Historic Business District a surplus of buildings have led to several grant opportunities. These grant opportunities were partnered with over 5 million dollars of private investment to create more than 100 new office jobs and 15 new businesses.

The City of Cohoes has completed various studies that identified many additional locations for investment. These areas include: the 470 Corridor, the Hudson River Waterfront, the 787 Cohoes Boulevard corridor and the Downtown Business District.
