Cohoes Falls: Overlook Park & Falls View ParkWhether you enjoy fishing, hiking or taking photographs of the Falls, each visit will define a new experience. Falls View Park is open to the public from May 1 through November 1 while Overlook Park, adjacent to the hydroelectric facility on School Street, is open year-round. The parks offer views of the scenic Cohoes Falls that spans the Mohawk River between Cohoes and Waterford, New York. |

Van Schaick MansionBuilt in 1755 by Anthony Van Schaick, the house stands as a testament to the struggles of the men and women who lived during a tumultuous time in this country’s history. The house was used as military headquarters during the French & Indian War, the American Revolution and the War of 1812. In 1777 the Battle of Saratoga—often referred to as the turning point of the American Revolution— was planned here by Continental Army officers. Today the building serves as a museum run by the General Peter Gansevoort Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. |

Cohoes MastodonIn September of 1866, during the excavation for Harmony Mill No.3, the bones of a mastodon were discovered sixty feet below ground. The skeletal remains were well preserved and almost completely intact. Since 1915, the Cohoes Mastodon has been on display in the NYS Museum, where it can still be viewed today. |

Cohoes Music HallThe Cohoes Music Hall opened in 1874 and was designed by the architectural firm of Nichols and Halcott of Albany. During its history, the theater featured many luminaries of the day including Buffalo Bill Cody, John Philip Sousa, Col. Tom Thumb and Eva Tanguay who was one of the greatest stars of Vaudeville. |

Cohoes Visitor Center (RiverSpark)Hudson-Mohawk Heritage AreaLocated at 58 Remsen Street, Cohoes, NY. Tours of the Historic Cohoes Music Hall featuring a fifteen minute audio program narrated by Paddy, the resident ghost of the music hall. Exhibit includes a twenty minute audio visual presentation "A Day in the Life of Cohoes: 1882". Stop by on the last Wednesday of the month for a Spindle City Historic Society meeting 6:45pm - 8:00pm |
